Dotted Rhythms
1) Make sure to play the dotted rhythms accurately. Do not “triplet-ize” or “swing” the thirty-second notes. Subdivide the beats using your voice or a metronome.
2) Listen carefully to your accenting when playing the short, long variation. Be syure to accent the downbeat and not the second note. It’s easy to turn the beat around when working on the rhythm.
3) Work on this study using various right-hand fingerings, especially ones involving “a”. Also try p-i and p-m.
